چکیده
Objective: To compare the results of local administration platelet-rich plasma (PRP) with methylprednisolone in treatment tennis elbow.
Methods: This retrospective cohort was conducted at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC) during January 2017 to April 2018. Patients conservatively managed for lateral epicondylitis injection or PRP were approached possible inclusion study 12 months treatment. The primary outcome determine Numerical Pain Rating Score (NPRS) on resisted wrist extension. Whereas, secondary outcomes quick disability arm, shoulder, and hand score (qDASH), grip strength VAS satisfaction. baseline, six weeks three month data Grip strength, NPRS, qDASH extracted from patients’ medical records maintained hospital. analyzed by using SPSS software.
Results: A total 91 patients approached, them 81 (89.01%) agreed participate. There 46 (56.79%) who received 35 (43.20%) PRP. At follow up, there no difference NPRS pain scores between two groups (p=0.691); decreased both months. significant functional (qDASH score) groups. Both equally satisfied they had received.
Conclusion: concluded that is efficacy modalities used elbow alleviating months.

Background: We aimed to compare the efficacy of local injection therapies for lateral epicondylitis in a Bayesian framework. Methods: We searched the Embase, PubMed, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, Web of Science, Scopus, and ProQuest, for randomized controlled trials published from inception to February 2021 in any languages. The injection therapies included corticosteroids (C...
متن کاملThe effect of corticosteroid versus platelet-rich plasma injection therapies for the management of lateral epicondylitis: A systematic review
INTRODUCTION Lateral epicondylitis is a common musculoskeletal disorder of the upper limb. Corticosteroid injection has been widely used as a major mode of treatment. However, better understanding of the pathophysiology of the disease led to a major change in treating the disease, with new options including platelet-rich plasma (PRP) are currently used. Objectives/research aim: To systematicall...

Background: Several treatment options have been proposed to treat lateral epicondylitis. Both Platelet rich plasma (PRP) and Extra-corporeal Shock Wave Therapy (ESWT) are new treatment modalities for tendinopathy. Patients and Methods: Thirty seven patients suffering from chronic lateral epicondylitis (tennis elbow) for at least six months were treated in this study. The patients were divided i...

BACKGROUND Chronic lateral elbow epicondylitis is a tendinosis with angiofibrolastic degeneration of the wrist extensors' origin. Healing of this lesion is reported with the use of autologous blood as well as with platelet-rich plasma (PRP). PURPOSE A comparative study of these 2 treatments was conducted in an effort to investigate the possible advantages of PRP. STUDY DESIGN Randomized con...
